MEKWARS: LEGENDS

MECHS AND COMBAT VEHICLES
MECHS

Since the arrival of the venerable "Mackie" in the 25th century battle mechs, or "mechs", have dominated the battlefields of the Inner Sphere. Though recent rediscovery of Battle Armor technology and guided artillery have begun to threaten the battle mechs undisputed claim as master of the battlefield, there is no doubt that for the foreseeable future the "Mech" will continue to be the decisive arm of any army

The following rules apply to mech deployment:

RULE: Players may deploy Mechs either as stand alone forces or in conjunction with Vehicles and Infantry forces.

VEHICLES

Although the 'Mech was a breakthrough in battlefield technology it never fully replaced conventional vehicles, largely do to the great expense of the former and the cost effectiveness and ease of manufacture of the latter. To this day conventional vehicles or "Vees" remain an important part of the 31st century battlefield.

The following rules apply to vehicle deployment:

CONVENTIONAL VEHICLES:
Players may deploy vehicles either as stand alone forces or in conjunction with Mechs and Infantry. Anytime vehicles are deployed they count as Non-Infantry Combat Unit (NICU) for purposes of unit ratios and "The 50% Rule" unless otherwise classified as a "Transport".

VTOLS:
VTOL units are a special case, and do not count as a NICU for purposes of determining whether an army satisfies the 50% rule. VTOL craft, even if also classified as a transport unit, can be deployed only at a ratio of 1 to 4 NICU. In short, a single VTOL, even if also classified as a transport unit, can be deployed for every 4 NICU in the a force.
