More than any other, Clan Ghost Bear has changed since the opening days of Operation Revival. Unlike the stubborn Falcons or thuggish Smoke Jaguars the Ghost Bears adapted to their new surroundings. The traditional emphasis of family within Ghost bear society (to the extent that clan society allows) drew them to the protective overseeing of their occupation zone population. Whereas the other clans ruled over their conquered populace with indifference the Ghost Bears wisely began a process of reconciliation. As a result, he clan has become embedded in their occupation zone, renamed the Ghost Bear Dominion.
Wildly successful during Revival, the initially Crusader Ghost Bears grew steadily more Warden as their contact with their Inner Sphere population increased. By the time of the Great Refusal the Bears had declared themselves Warden, taking no part in the trials that effectively ended Operation Revival and the invasion of the Inner Sphere. Instead, the Ghost Bears withdrew from the Clan homeworlds, bartering their holdings for assistance in transporting their civilian castes. Only a small thread of holdings connects the Dominion to the political anarchy overtaking the homeworlds. The Bears, with their farsighted outlook have decided to fully invest themselves in their new Inner Sphere home.
Since the Great Refusal the Ghost Bear Dominion has been on the rise. Able to transplant many of their homeworld industries within the new Dominion, as well as refurbishing native factories the Ghost Bear Touman is well supplied. War broke out between the Bears and their Inner Sphere neighbors, the Draconis Combine. Despite housing the hated Nova Cat exiles House Kurita proved an honorable foe. The Dominion handedly won the Combine-Ghost Bear War and the agreed Courcheval Trials in 3063. Gracious in victory, the Bears returned the worlds they had taken from the Combine, except for Courcheval. Both sides were relieved to discover the other was an honorable opponent in a time when Clan honor has been used for manipulation and treachery.
