TAC OPS: AIR SUPERIORITY
Richard was almost crushed into his seat. He pulled a hard turn, one that would have sent amateur pilots spiralling into the mountains. The enemy Corsair was trying hard to both maneuver and line up a shot on Richard's six. He smiled to himself, no ace was going down to a greenhorn like that. He didn't even bother to concentrate. The aft turret threw out a beam of green light that snagged the Corsair right in the engine intake. Now that amateur hour was over, those artillery batteries could use another strafing run.

The Air Superiority tactical operation is meant to approximate the struggle for control of the skies during a planetary campaign. Domination of the airspace above a planet can be just as effective towards controlling the ground below as winning a battle on "terra firma". 

Like all Tactical Operations, Atmospheric Superiority requires a nearby Logistic Center. Players may only use Aerospace fighters in this operation which is played on an "Atmospheric" altitude map. This operation may only be launched using the AFR (Attack from Reserve) option.
